BULLYING what does it mean?

                                                       The definition of Bullying:

In Wikipedia it’s meaning is the use of force, threat or Coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively dominates others.  The behavior is often repeated and habitual.

11 Facts About Bullying

5.  By  the time 14 year olds, less than 40% of girls and 30% of boys will talk to their peers about bullying.   Why do you think that is?

6.  Almost 70% of students believe in schools response to bullying is very poor.  High percentage of students believe that adults do not get involved most of the and if they do the are not very effective.  I know that for a fact.

7.  Over 71% of students report incidents of buying as a problem at their school.

8.  90% of 4th through 8th graders report being victims of bullying.    It is even younger that 4th grade.

9.  1 in 10  students drop out of school because of bullying.

10.  As boys age the are less and less likely to feel sympathy for victims of bullying.  In fact they are more likely to add to the problem than solve it.

11. Physical bullying increases in elementary school, peaks in middle school and declines in high school.  Verbal abuse, on the other hand, remains constants. ***

All I can say is WOW!!!  That is some heavy duty facts.  I do not take the bullying of students very lightly.  The teachers reactions is what makes me sick to my stomach.  I have grandchildren who have been bullied.  Started at age 8 with the and end at age 17 so far.  My one grandchild ended up in a mental facility.  The child who was bullied when she was 8 and 9 came home crying everyday. By the time she was in 4th grade I had had even enough. I went to the principle and he told the girls who were doing the bullying that they weren’t really bullying.  I lost I all respect for him.  They were not beating her but it was how they spoke to her.  Told her she wasn’t good enough to play with  them.  They both had been her friends.  Luckily with the support from the counselors in and out of school she was about to deal with friends.  In Junior High she has many friends.

My oldest grandchild was made fun of because of her last name.  I didn’t think it was anything. I spoke with her last week and she said she was 13 years old when it started.  She spoke with a Principle and a counselor and nothing ever happened.    They moved so it solved that problem for her.  They didn’t move because of the bullying.

The next oldest grandchild was threatened to be beaten and killed.  She went to the counselor time and time again and nothing was done.   We all feared for her life.  She didn’t want to go to school, nor did I.  Her mother spoke with the principal and she spoke with my granddaughter and the girl who threatened her.  The principal put them both in the same room alone.  According to the handbook that is not to be done.  The girl was very active and very smart.  She was told she would get expelled if she or any of her friends laid a hand on my granddaughter.  Don’t know who told the girl that she would get expelled.  But it worked.  She was also the President of the Student Council. Go Figure!!

My next granddaughter was 13.  Very, Very bright.  But she did not want to go to school and she would cut herself.  Her that from her siblings.  All I could do is tell her parents.  This when on when she was 12.  One girl would be after her and tel.l her she was ugly.  She had dark hair and big black eye.  She’s beautiful.  Finally one day the counselor called DCFS and a counselor came.  They called me because I am close to all my grandchildren.  I was to tell them what I know.  This is very sad and heartbreaking sending a grandchild 2 hours from home and could not see her everyday.  She came back and was happy.  But the beginning of this year she did not want to go to school.  She is doing great and I am so happy for her.

My grandson has been beaten on and things stolen from him.  Taken right out his hand.  He is afraid he will get into trouble or be bullied if he says or does anything.  This has been going on since he was in 6th grade.  He now is in 8th.  He is a very passive and loving boy who does not want to make trouble.  Therefore, he will just take it.  He is not a sissy.  He is building he own truck he can drive when he is 16  and can drive.

I know that last sentence has nothing to do with bullying but he has goals and sometimes that may help.
In March my grand daughter kept coming home and saying, no name, was telling her that my grand daughter is worthless and she should kill herself. She happened to be on social media and showed it to the mom when my grand daughter said she may as well kill herself.
The mom called the Sheriff’s Dept and took her to the hospital. Until she could go to a mental health hospital. She stayed from Sunday until Friday. Everything seems to be going ok now.

What does HPV Stand For? Is the HPV Vaccine Safe For All?

HPV is short for the Human Papillomavirus.

There  are some FACTS and MYTHS about HPV that all people should know.

Female and males alike can get HPV.  It can only be gotten through sexual relations,

not through kissing or saliva .

HPV can cause certain  cancer or diseases which are very serious.  There is no age barrier,

they may be as young as preteens who are sexually active could get HPV.  Approximately

85% to 90% of anal cancer cases are HPV related.  Every year there are 14 millions new HPV

cases in the Unites States, 50% of them are between the ages 15 – 24 -years old.

Sometimes people are not aware that they have HPV.  The best thing to do is to get regular

yearly check ups.  This is nothing you want to figure will go away because it won’t.

CDC recommends 11 – 12 year olds get two doses of the vaccine.  Then 6-12months later

get another dose.  The is to protect against cancer caused by HPV.

The symptoms of the vaccine are the most dangerous for the preteens:

Headaches, dizziness, fatigue, loss of consciousness and stiffness.

In my family we have two preteens who were given these vaccines.  When they were about

15 years old one started having seizures.  A few months later the other one had seizures

really bad. Frothing at the mouth, falling and hurting herself.  The youngest now has

high blood pressure like 200/don’t remember.  Also she gets headaches which last for

weeks.  This will not happen for everyone.  My question is, is it worth putting your children

through what might be very unpleasant for them?

That is a decision every parent must make on their own.  I would never tell you what to

do.  But as we always say there are 2 sides to  every story.

I wanted you to know both sides. ;
