Former teacher turned psychologist Angela Lee Duckworth set out to determine why some children graduated High School school and others dropped out. More than family income, test scores, good looks, health or talent, grit was the one factor that indicated who would graduate.
In Duckworth’s book, Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance, she outlines what grit really is. It comes down to 1) sticking with goals, 2) persevering after experiencing failure 3) being willing to fail and then start over again using new lessons learned.
This is what I intend to do, putting one foot in front of the other. No fear, no sadness, no guilt, no doubt will stop me.
